Ay, there's the rub.

Despite my newly formed reputation as a flake, I am sort of looking forward to going back to school, if only to eat this sandwich:

Au Bon Pain's Salmon-Wasabi breakfast sandwich. My feelings on ABP are that it is generally overpriced and their coffee is not so good. The only edible things really are their ultra-fatty spinach feta croissants (excellent for when you're in a rush!) or their soups (I like the Pumpkin Harvest). These could be good posts for other days actually, especially considering I just remembered a bunch of other things I like at ABP. So maybe ABP is not so terrible. It is one of very few places where you can pick up a bunch of things to eat in a hurry, which given the pace at which I walk and other aspects of my harried lifestyle, is really very important to me. It's just that I feel slightly crestfallen when I realize I've spent hundreds of dollars at ABP over the course of three months.

Above is not the most flattering photo of this sandwich, but trust me, it's delicious and a deal. At $4.99 (I believe? Maybe even as low as $3.99!) you can get this sandwich and a coffee of any size (!!!!). Also, it is the cheapest lox in town. Once, I went to Bagel Gourmet Olé and they charged me like $12 for lox on a croissant. Granted, it was approximately a pound of lox, but seriously, who needs to eat a whole pound of lox? (Although in truth I ate every bite and may have licked off some of the crumbs. I am a savage.)

We don't have ABP where I live (I know, I know. I live in Siberia.) so I only get to eat this occasionally. But trust me when I tell you it's delicious! There is not too much wasabi, and ABP uses herb cream cheese on the onion bagel, which is just a lovely mixture of flavors. There are cucumbers, too! So it's kind of healthy. Except for the cream cheese factor. But did I mention there is lox???

I misplaced the digital camera with which I took like 90% of the yearbook photos back when I was editor, so we are limited to photos from the internet and photos taken with my webcam. This will be a fun, low image quality exercise!!!
